9 Homemade Solutions For Your Body, Hair and Face


It's always a great idea to pamper yourself once in a while. Not only does it feel great but it does your body, skin and hair good. The best thing to do is to make all of your products at home with all-natural products so that you know exactly what your skin and hair is soaking up. Plus, it's so much cheaper that way since you already have the ingredients in your home! 

Body Scrubs

It's important to scrub your body once a week. Keep in mind not to over scrub or do it too often because you don't want to irritate your skin! Here are some homemade recipes for some great scrubs to get glowing, smooth skin!

Banilla Scrub (Oil Free) 

Use a fork to mash together 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1 banana. Add a drop of vanilla extract. The bananas act as the moisturizer in the same way oil would.


Lemon Refresher Scrub

You want to take ? cup of oil and ½ cup of sugar (you could use salt as well).

Then juice and zest one lemon and add it to the mix. 

The sugar exfoliates while the lemon tightens and brightens the skin!


Coffee Scrub

Measure out 1/4 cup of oil and 1/2 cup of sugar or salt. Throw in 2 tablespoons of ground coffee.

Not only does this exfoliate and refresh the skin but coffee has antioxidants that can reduce swelling. The best thing about this is that you can reuse old grounds that are in your coffee filter!


Face Masks

Leave these masks on for 15-30 minutes! Make sure you avoid sensitive areas like eyes and mouth.

Watermelon-Yogurt Face Mask

Mix together 1/2 cup of watermelon chunks with 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt.
The yogurt soothes, moisturizes and brightens irritated skin while watermelon is a great source of Vitamin C that helps produce new collagen.


Pumpkin Pie Mask

Mash up 3 tablespoons of pumpkin puree, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of milk and some cinnamon.

Pumpkin helps clear blemishes and cinnamon is anti-inflammatory and has antioxidants.


Hair Masks

Hair is often neglected and ends up drying out a lot faster than you'd like it to, especially in the summer with the sun, chlorine and salt. Make sure to do one of these hair masks once a week for healthy, shiny, long hair! Leave these on for at least 15 minutes but you could leave it on overnight with a shower cap!

Honey Avocado Hair Mask

You'll need a medium avocado, 2 tablespoons of honey; mash them together. Put it on your hair and pull your hair up in a bun for 15-30 minutes. You could also use this one as a face mask as well!


Mayonnaise-Vodka Hair Mask

This sounds atrocious and it smells/tastes horrible however the alcohol lowers the pH level of the hair making it appear shinier and less frizzy. The mayo on the other hand, is protein-packed and moisturizes the hair. All you do is add a shot of vodka to ? cup of mayonnaise.

Vinegar Rinse

Just rinse your hair with white vinegar to add shine. Wash it thoroughly. 

Coconut Oil Mask

Soak hair in coconut oil (in its liquid state) for 30 minutes or overnight. Not only does coconut oil moisturize but it protects hair from hygral fatigue (when hair expands when wet and contracts when dry, therefore, causing damage).
